Keelia Adene Cobell has lived in Tennessee with her family for as long as she can remember. On her sixteenth birthday, Keelia’s parents reveal her true past. Soon strangers arrive to take her to Crecklington — home to the Sustainers, the people who sustain the world through their music and other abilities. Soon, Keelia discovers that the Shen Drar are seeking to dull the colors of the world by destroying music. Keelia and her friends desperately defy rules hoping to save their home and find a way to save the music of the Sustainers.
